Become a Certified Official
The Hearthstone Heatwaves has been very lucky to always have eager parents volunteer their time and energy to help our team have the required number of meet officials at both home and away meets. It is time to continue that trend. We are always looking for parents to help provide redundancies and relief to our current roster of certified meet officials. If you have the time, energy and passion to help our beloved Heatwaves, we encourage you to become a NWAL Certified Official and help the team.
FAQ....
What does it take to become a Certified Official?
- Just attending the required classes (usually on the same day with multiple opportunities during April) and passing the certification exam.
How much does it cost?
- Free! There are no fees to attend classes and take the exams.
What type of Official are we looking for?
- We are always in need of more Stroke and Turn Officials and Clerk/Computer Help. If you have not been certified in the past, some positions require time in grade as other officials. For example you can't be a starter without one year of experience as a stroke and turn official.
How many officials do we need?
- As many as possible. The more officials we have the more often we can relieve other officials from the summer heat!
So how do I sign up?
Your first step is to create an account on NWAL Certified:
Once your have created an account, go to the Class Sign Up page under General. It will only show the classes that are available to you given your current level of certification. And Join a class - it's that simple. Further instruction will follow on the day of the class including your examination and provisional status.
2020 Training Schedule will be posted by March 15th 2020.
